- Meta IntegrationŽ's Model Bridge(MIMB) software lets customers convert metadata models from virtually any vendor's design tool software to Sybase's PowerDesigner.
- Customers that have invested in modeling tools and have gathered significant quantities of metadata can now easily convert all their metadata to PowerDesigner.
EMERYVILLE, CA June 11, 2001 - Sybase, Inc. (NYSE: SY) today announced that joint testing conducted with Meta Integration Technology, Inc. has confirmed Meta Integration's Model Bridge software will enable customers to transfer analysis and design models from virtually any vendor's design-tool software to Sybase PowerDesigner. Customers can then transform their existing metadata into PowerDesigner data models. PowerDesigner software lets analysts, designers and developers effectively collaborate and create application blueprints, based on business needs. Meta Integration's Model Bridge converts models created with another vendor's design software to PowerDesigner data models.
Christian Bremeau, Meta Integration's CEO, said "We are proud to add Sybase PowerDesigner to the growing list of supported tools for our Meta IntegrationŽ Model Bridge product. Metadata is everywhere -- underneath data and object modeling tools as well as within the repositories of the ETL, DW, and EAI products. This new bi-directional bridge provides Sybase PowerDesigner with support for both legacy metadata migration and metadata integration -- as needed in today's multi-vendor, business intelligence and knowledge-management environments."
Dimitri Volkmann, Sybase product marketing manager, said, "Sybase's partnership with Meta Integration means that corporations will not be forced into investing in separate design tools. PowerDesigner covers the multiple modeling techniques needed to describe business systems -- including databases, UML, and business process modeling. With Meta Integration's products, customers can now take full advantage of PowerDesigner by migrating existing metadata. They can then focus on one design tool."
